Upcoming Oxford based producer/vocalist Julia-Sophie provides the first in a series of eight remixes of Emma-Kate Matthews' 2020 'Far Flung' EP.

Emma-Kate on Julia-Sophie's remix "One of the things that I really enjoy about Julia-Sophie's Far Flung Remix is how vast and spacious it sounds. Julia-Sophie's unique style is recognisable within the first few seconds and her use of the original stems really maintains the layered character of the original track, whilst adding fresh new colours and dynamic rhythms that instantly get you moving. The track spans a massive vertical space, between deep foundations of warm synth bass and shimmering metallic details, which dance and interweave in complex and unpredictable ways. Soaring vocal textures slowly build and rise towards the end of the track to bring this interplay of complex sonic elements to a heady conclusion. Julia-Sophie took the space within this track and opened it up even further!"

Emma-Kate Matthews is a London-based multidisciplinary artist, composer and architect and released the Far Flung EP on Algebra Records at the end of 2020 as a series of limited edition transparent lathe cut 12"s with handmade textile artwork and audio-reactive visuals. Far Flung is a complex collage of dance floor adjacent electronica that gets you thinking and moving.

Emma-Kate's artwork for 'Dreams Again' merges footage of a digitally simulated cloth falling through space, with footage generated by artificial intelligence using a GAN (Generative Adversarial Network) and has been longlisted for the 2021 Lumen Prize for art and technology.

Each remix includes new video art by Emma-Kate.
