The Well Of Deep Time

A 2 track ambient single (22m 6s) — released February 23rd 2023 on Algebra Records

Casually Here (aka Nic Nell) is an artist, composer, sound designer and producer/engineer with a background in art and mathematics. He released his ambitious optimistic second album 'Possible Worlds' on Algebra in 2022 which plays with ideas of bifurcating possible futures at this precarious point in history. Other recent projects include producing Orlando Weeks' (The Maccabees) acclaimed album 'A Quickening', collaborating on an electronic art/dance project with Lawrence Hart released as a series of EPs on Hotflush and mastering records for artists such as Porij and Art School Girlfriend. Nic founded and runs Algebra Records with a focus on supporting emerging artists practically, technically and collegiately to help foster artistic community and context.

'The Well Of Deep Time' is a seventeen minute long ambient/meditation piece originally composed as part of the ARIA award winning podcast 'The Long Time Academy' to accompany a deep time meditation taking the listener back through the 4.8 billion year history of earth alongside an episode featuring Brian Eno discussing the origins of ambient music.

The piece was subsequently included as part of a collaboration between Nic and the virtual realist duo Gibson/Martelli in the VR project 'PAN + TILT' which premiered in the 2022 BFI London Film Festival Expanded Exhibition.
