Dust (Ash Koosha Remix)

ELY

A 2 track leftfield/idm single (9m 50s) — released June 24th 2022 on Algebra Records

London's Algebra Records announces ELY's debut album 'Are You Invested In The Economy Of Love? Remixed And Reworked'.

Futurist/AI innovator Ash Koosha (Warp, Ninja Tune)'s take on Dust is a monumental digital array of glitches, bleeps and scattered beats that summon up images of a decaying eastern city. All crumbling blocks and towers as eastern melodies float across the top of a bed of mangled electronics.

Emanative (Brownswood, Ninja Tune, On The Corner) takes Dust to the other extreme. Stripping away all of the muscle from the original track, Dust returns to its purest and most eastern elements. A deep and spiritual rework, Emanative enlists UK jazz & soul legend Jessica Lauren on Rhodes and Farfisa for some extra vibe.

London born drummer and producer Liam Hutton head down remix of Karpouzie Boogie featuring additional synth work from Algebra's Casually Here and Chris Williams' free jazz saxophone solo.

Freedom Candlemaker's rework of title track Are You Invested In The Economy of Love? strips the track back to its core elements and introduces a beautifully melancholic melody and lyric: 'Presence, The heavens are shaking, Shimmer'.

Experimental dub producer Jay Glass Dubs (Bokeh Versions, The Tapeworm, Anòmia, DFA Records) extends Levante into a 14 minute weightless fuzzy rendition of the original, channeling a ghostly approach as if Rhythm and Sound jammed with James Newton in a quasi ECM studio in the borders between oriental and occidental.

Henry Walton has released and been featured on records released though labels such as PIAS (UK & EUR), Arts & Crafts (US), Sony Japan, Dew Process (AUS), Fierce Panda (UK), Double Denim (UK), Brille (UK) & Algebra Records (UK).

Now based in Lefkosia he collaborates with artists connected to the local labels Louvana Records and Honest Electronics as well as old musical friends in London.

Algebra Records is run by artist/composer/producer Casually Here (Nic Nell) with a focus on supporting emerging artists practically and collegiately to help foster artistic community and context. Recent Algebra releases include Casually Here's second album 'Possible Worlds', the two debut EPs from Heavenly Stems, Liam Hutton's debut 'Trials' EP, artist/composer/architect Emma-Kate Matthews' 'Far Flung EP' and Sunplus' debut album 'More Colour'.
